The national and international speleology community is in shock over the tragic death of Luca Pedrali , 60, an expert diver from Salò , who died yesterday after a dive in the waters of the Su Gologone spring . According to initial reports, Pedrali had managed to surface and remove his equipment when he suddenly felt ill . Those present immediately raised the alarm, but unfortunately, all rescue attempts were unsuccessful. Today, the magistrate returned the body to the family, deeming an autopsy unnecessary.

The technical equipment used during the dive was seized and is now at the disposal of the specialist diving team of the Cagliari and Sassari Fire Departments, who were airlifted to the slopes of the Supramonte yesterday immediately after the alarm was raised. Pedrali was considered one of the most experienced Italian cave divers, with decades of explorations in some of the most complex underground and submerged environments in Europe . His passing represents a profound loss for the speleological community, which is grieving as it remembers his scientific and human contributions.

The waters of Su Gologone, among the deepest and most unexplored in Italy, continue to hold a great fascination for specialists in the field, but they remain an extremely delicate and risky environment, which even the most experienced divers approach with the utmost respect.
