Twelve people were subjected to stub tests to determine if they were the shooter. This is an important step in the investigation into the murder of Leonardo Mocci, the 23-year-old bricklayer from Villacidro killed with a gunshot to the chest in Piazza Settimio Severo, Monserrato, on the night between Wednesday and Thursday. Tests for the possible presence of gunpowder on the hands were conducted on various witnesses and individuals who the Carabinieri of the Quartu branch believe may have been at the scene of the crime, which occurred between the pilotis of a building and the road. The 23-year-old was found bleeding by rescuers, lying on the asphalt.
The bloody affair unfolded in a matter of minutes. According to local residents, a group of young people were in the square. The twenty-three-year-old arrived in a car with a friend. And it emerged that Mocci paid with his life for a "favor" he had done for the friend.
Perhaps an argument broke out with someone who was under the buildings. A shot was clearly heard during the night: those who heard it, among the local residents, thought it was a firecracker. They couldn't have imagined a murder was taking place. Another certainty: the young man who was with Mocci got into his car and fled. It's unclear whether he did so before his friend was killed. When approached by investigators, after a few hours, he gave his version. Others who were certainly present also provided theirs. And the accounts are conflicting.
But as the hours pass, interrogations are conducted, and images from numerous surveillance cameras in the area are analyzed, the picture becomes increasingly clear to investigators. And a breakthrough in the investigation may be imminent.
