One month after the blockade ordered for the first outbreaks of epizootic haemorrhagic disease of deer (Ehdv) , registered in the south-west of the island, the Region was ready to reopen the movement of cattle and sheep. But the halt has come from Teramo .

A few hours ago, the regional health department together with the ministry issued the provision establishing the possibility of moving cattle from farms located in areas 150 kilometers from the outbreaks outside the region without constraints.

But in the evening new analyzes arrived from the National Reference Center for exotic diseases of Teramo found new positives in some sheep heads in Busachi .

«A very bad news that arrives on the day of the unblocking of the movement after a month of total blockade», said the president of Coldiretti Sardegna Battista Cualbu .

The Ministry's decision to suspend the release decision, which had also been allowed by the Sassarese, Nuorese and Ogliastra regions, following PCR tests on all the animals concerned, arrived shortly after.

"We have obtained a first important result," commented the president of the Region, Christian Solinas . Then the necessary step back.

"Waiting for further updates and to learn more about the details - Cualbu's appeal - we ask that the movement of ruminants be allowed in any case even if with PCR and that we are quick to limit the virus and get back to free movement".
