Understanding the cause of death is not difficult: the animal was completely wrapped in plastic . Along the beach of the seaside village of Torregrande , at the first pier, the operators of the Sinis Marine Protected Area found the carcass of a turtle in an advanced state of decomposition, which had remained entangled in plastic and nylon material .
The presence of the carcass was then reported to the Port Authority led by Commander Federico Pucci. The Municipality was immediately alerted for removal. Cres biologists also intervened on site.
