A young man was arrested this morning who was trying to escape after stealing several backpacks on the crowded beach of Marina Piccola in Cagliari. The Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Section of the Cagliari Company intervened at the request of some bathers who had reported the theft of their personal effects.

The man was spotted trying to walk away with the recently stolen backpacks, which were returned to their rightful owners . The reports were filed on the spot.

The man, already known to the police and a guest of a reception center in Medio Campidano, was arrested for aggravated theft and placed under house arrest in the same facility, awaiting the hearing with a summary procedure scheduled for tomorrow.
