Crosetto visited the capital of Turri to thank the Sassari Brigade and those who participated in the mission in Lebanon . "I have followed you day after day," the Minister of Defense stated at the Gonzaga barracks, "as if I were a member of the family. Because that's how I understand my role as Minister: to serve those who serve Defense. Defense exists thanks to the men and women who get up every morning, with their own problems and families, and still choose to wear the uniform, to do their duty, to serve the country."
"Our duty," Crosetto added, "is to defend the people we love and, with them, Italy as a whole. Even when someone misunderstands or underestimates your work. As your anthem says, 'strong as the nuraghi,' you are always vigilant in guarding peace. Today's 'Sassarini' continue to uphold the name of Italy and Sardinia , responding with pride and responsibility to the expectations of the Defense and the country, honoring their chosen profession in every circumstance, faithful to your motto and the oath they swore. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, on behalf of myself, the Government, and the institutions. Forza Paris!"
The minister was accompanied by the Chief of the Defense Staff, General Luciano Portolano, and the Chief of the Army Staff, Lieutenant General Carmine Masiello. He was welcomed by the commander of the "Dimonios," Brigadier General Andrea Fraticelli.
Crosetto paid tribute to the War Flag of the 152nd "Sassari" Infantry Regiment and the 45th "Reggio" Command and Tactical Support Unit, and then traveled to the training stations at the "Gonzaga" barracks to observe a series of training and experimental activities developed according to the Home Station Training concept. These activities are intended to maintain the high operational readiness of the "Sassari" units, with a view to further developing integrated training capabilities that leverage both the potential of digital simulation and the benefits of field training.
A program that, according to the Army, "allows for the immediate transfer of skills developed in a simulated environment to a real-world context, with the aim of testing operational procedures, system interoperability, and decision-making capabilities." The visit to the "Gonzaga" facility concluded with a performance by the "Sassari" Brigade Band and the 3rd Bersaglieri Regiment's Fanfare, who sang "Dimonios," the famous anthem of the "Red Devils."
