The war in Ukraine and the economic consequences, the two years of the pandemic and the social difficulties, the financial and energy crisis and the safeguarding of democracies and jobs. These are just some of the topics addressed on the occasion of the 7th Territorial Congress of the CGIL of Sassari, which opened this morning in the hall of the Astra theatre.

«The many setbacks that are recorded in terms of protection and rights, starting from the fundamental one of the right to have a decent job, come from the disregard of the value of work, with pockets of poverty that widen and have to coexist with spheres of wealth increasingly concentrated in the hands of a few ", are the words of the outgoing general secretary of the CGIL, Francesca Nurra, a speech that will be followed tomorrow morning by the contribution of the general secretary of the Sardinian CGIL, Fausto Durante, and by the conclusions of Franco Martini representing of the national CGIL.

At the center of the debate is the national political framework, the value of work, job insecurity, the revitalization of industrial poles, Green Chemistry, territorial continuity, transport. " The social dimension of the crisis triggered by the war in Ukraine requires great solidarity on the part of all, common actions, responsibility, cooperation and diplomacy", underlined the outgoing secretary. On stage also the interventions of the various protagonists of local, regional and national politics, from the mayor of the Municipality of Sassari, Nanni Campus, to the deputy mayor of the Municipality of Porto Torres, Simona Fois, including the commissioner of the Province Pietrino Fois, from the regional Transportation, Antonio Moro, to the Pd deputy, Silvio Lai, up to the regional councilor for Public Works, Aldo Salaris, to the regional councilors Antonio Piu and Gianfranco Ganau.
