It's chaos at the Tossilo waste platform in Macomer . The new plants, which were supposed to start up in December, will not be able to start up in January either. Meanwhile the workers are still without the December salary and without the thirteenth month . The INPS contributions were not paid either. Indeed, according to what is written in a document by the same workers, the funds destined for the Macomer Industrial Consortium, which in part were supposed to guarantee the continuity of the Tossilo Spa company and the payment of wages, would have been diverted to other entities in the province of Nuoro.

"This only aggravates the already distressing situation of uncertainty and fear for the future of workers and for the start-up of the new waste-to-energy plant - it is written in a union document - we ask for the immediate payment of wages, the payment of INPS contributions, supplementary social security and taxes, urgent clarifications on the fate of the workers and on the management of the new waste-to-energy plant".

In the document, the workers announce that they will notify the authorities in charge of what is happening and will block all activities starting from January 16: "We will ensure that our legitimate interests are legally protected".

A dramatic situation, which has repercussions on the entire waste system of half of Sardinia. Therefore, the meeting with the Prefect of Nuoro at the end of last year had no results, where even the representatives of the Region had guaranteed the solution to the problem by the end of the past year. Everything stands still inexplicably. Indeed, a deafening silence fell over the whole affair.
