«The applause, the flowers, the tears of thousands of people at Emanuela's funeral comforted us because they made us feel less alone in our devastating pain. But now we would like that immense affection to be transformed into a single voice that shouts only two words: truth and justice ».

Pain

The family of Emanuela Mura, the 41-year-old from Cagliari overwhelmed and killed by a hit-and-run at dawn on November 29 while jogging near the Carloforte cemetery, asks for the help of the entire community of the island of San Pietro. A 31-year-old from the town, Marco Repetto, is currently being investigated for the woman's death, but he says he does not remember anything of that tragic morning. He was sued for road homicide and wrongful death and his car, heavily damaged after the accident he admitted to having had that Sunday, was impounded. «Ten days have passed - says Giulia Mura, Emanuela's younger sister - days in which a thousand voices of alleged truths have not yet emerged, of third parties involved, of people who know something but do not speak. For us, every word is a blow to the heart, every doubt makes the nightmare we have begun to live since Emanuela is no longer with us more atrocious. This is why we would like those who loved my sister, those who knew her immense strength to help us to defeat the silence: those who know something must speak up. Carloforte is a small community, we ask that it demand justice ».

No hate

There is no hatred or desire for revenge in the words of this very united family whose heart was broken: "Emanuela taught us to love, to look at the best in people - says Giulia - we know that there is another family that is suffering for what has happened, we are sure that there are two parents torn between love for their child and a sense of duty, but now common sense must prevail. We need to think of Emanuela, of the life that was taken from her, of the absurd way in which she was left to die alone, in the rain and in the cold, without anyone holding her hand to encourage her, in those minutes they have preceded his last breath ".

Memories

To give courage to this family devastated by pain there is now the memory of Emanuela's great fortitude: «A unique girl - says her father Bastiano - nothing could discourage her, not even the disease she had challenged and was defeating. She did not deserve what happened to her and she does not deserve the silence and deafening silence that accompanies the investigation ». The days are passing with the albums of happy memories of an unfortunately short life, of the projects that Emanuela wanted to carry out in Cagliari, where she dreamed of opening a student house, and in Carloforte, having had the intention of starting a cleaning company for houses and yacht: «It was a perennial river in flood - Giulia still remembers - she loved music and had an incredible voice, she had traveled the world, spoke three languages. Nothing could frighten her and she said that if she had chosen the disease she had done it because she alone was able to fight it ». A week before the accident he had celebrated the end of chemotherapy: «He always found reasons to celebrate. It was the last time our family got together for a long moment of joy, we couldn't have known it would be the last. "
