"It's a school, not a concentration camp." The students of the "Sergio Atzeni" institute in Capoterra threaten a strike and protest against the school regulations signed by the director : "We can only go to the garden if accompanied by a teacher, during recess we cannot stay in the corridors and the toilets are closed".

An episode from a few days ago triggered the protest of the students. One girl went to the toilet before recess but was still in the toilet when the bell rang . The janitors, as per regulation, locked the bathrooms and the student remained a prisoner inside.

The discontent among the students is mounting, as the student representatives explain : «At the "Atzeni" the students find themselves forced into class even during the break. Some of us tried to go out into the garden but were harshly reprimanded by the manager".

The vice principal Bruno Deplano: «We are sorry for the girl who was locked in the bathroom: we keep them closed to prevent them from becoming the scene of drug dealing as happened in the past. The breaktime? We want to encourage socialization ».
