Cagliari, unsafe branch: closed (and then reopened) to traffic viale Cimitero already disrupted by the works in progress
The road was closed not only to vehicles but also to pedestriansTraffic blocked and then reopened in Viale Cimitero in Cagliari, due to a large tree branch that threatened to break off and fall to the ground. The local police have cordoned off the road in the stretch from viale Bonaria to via Logudoro, to prevent the passage of vehicles and pedestrians: the danger of being run over by the branch is too high.
The traffic inconveniences were decidedly serious, considering that road traffic in Viale Cimitero had already halved due to the works for the new light rail route, for which one of the two carriageways was not passable. The other, with two lanes, must withstand traffic in both directions.
The whole area is shocked by the construction site for the construction of the railway line that will connect the terminus in Piazza Repubblica with the future one at the train station, in Piazza Matteotti.
The intervention was carried out by workers from the Municipality's public green sector.
