To obtain the meeting in the Municipality, they had taken to the streets, blocking Via Roma and paralyzing traffic in the center of Cagliari . But the meeting only slightly alleviated the discontent of the street vendors, furious at a regulation they define as too strict : an example is linked to those who, among them, have had their authorization revoked due to unpaid reports, accumulated in years with the use of the personal car. And on this issue there were some glimmers of opening: «We weren't told a clear no», explains the president of “Ambulantando” Mauro Zedda, «but they made us understand that they will see something again , even if we don't know What. They said we will do it together, because they will also have to summon some category representatives ».

But the meeting experienced moments of tension. Four itinerant vendors enter the Sala del Retablo, plus the lawyer Marcello Medici. On the other side of the table, there was also the mayor Paolo Truzzu, at least until the meeting heated up a bit too much: «I'm sorry to say it», underlines the lawyer, «but in the face of someone who has quieted down, understandably because he lost his job, got up and walked out . And we regret this because the mayor is the mayor and he had to give answers ». Alessandro Sorgia, councilor for Productive Activities, was present until the end, and at the end of the meeting he joined the street vendors outside the Town Hall to give explanations. But even in this case the dialogue degenerated, with heavy insults aimed at the exponent of the junta who walked away visibly annoyed: «I don't find it right», Sorgia told the street vendors, «I always listen to you and I don't sleep at night to find a solution. It's not right".

And among the issues that have not been digested by the traders, in addition to some personal situations, there is the management of the feast of Sant'Efisio , strongly conditioned by the work in progress in via Roma . The intervention on the road requires a drastic reduction of the stations, which will be moved from the portico side to the sea side, in the area where the buses currently pass. The slots, from about one hundred in recent years, will become thirty-nine . Not only that, since it is the area intended for the passage of public transport, everything will have to be dismantled at 5pm . «If you work in via Roma», adds Mauro Zedda, «they won't give you piazza del Carmine, whereas before you did both. Unfortunately they say there are no spaces and they have to adopt this system. We are forced to adopt it, but we are evaluating other solutions».

And at the moment there don't seem to be many, even if someone is proposing a mass renunciation of authorizations : «If in an event like this», says one of them, «there's no one offering to eat, there's no stuff to drink, they can't find any nougat, what's the party like?'
