Arrests have risen to two for the stabbing robbery carried out on Friday evening against a 25-year-old Tunisian in the Marina district of Cagliari (THE NEWS HERE).

The Police Mobile team carried out an arrest order against a young Algerian who, together with an eighteen-year-old already handcuffed yesterday (HERE THE NEWS), allegedly attacked the victim in an attempt to take away her mobile phone while she was near the square Saint Eulalia. The investigations are now focusing on a third alleged perpetrator, a compatriot of the first two.

The episode last night sparked an escalation of violence in the neighborhood near the port. Last night an Algerian was stabbed in Via Napoli, perhaps surrounded by Tunisians seeking revenge. The attackers fled and have not yet been identified. Shortly after, more blood, this time in Piazza Matteotti: another Algerian was injured in the hand with a blade, in front of the station (THE NEWS HERE).

A trail of blood which this morning led the residents of the neighborhood to take to the streets: "Here the situation is explosive", they said, "the institutions must intervene, not only with repression".

An initial response came from the mayor Paolo Truzzu, who made it known that he had kept the dialogue open with the Prefecture and the Police Headquarters: "I have been assured of the establishment of a fixed police station in via Napoli", assured the mayor from northern Sardinia, where he is for his electoral campaign as candidate for president of the Region.
