Celebration in Cagliari for the hundredth anniversary of Giovanna Puddu, born in Nurri, but living in the capital since the age of 28.
On the occasion of her birthday, Giovanna received visits from friends and relatives and also from the president of the Cagliari City Council, Edoardo Tocco, and the mayor of Nurri, Antonello Atzeni.
"In the city, Mrs. Puddu married Luigi Piras, born in 1905, Chief Marshal of Sea Finance, decorated with the Cross of Merit of Service during the Second World War. The marriage gave birth to four children who gave Mrs. Puddu four grandchildren, all around the grandmother to blow out the hundred candles this afternoon in her home ”, explains a note from Palazzo Bacaredda.
“A widow since 1979, Giovanna Puddu has continued to follow the whole family alone and has remained lucid and ready for dialogue, so much so that she wanted to tell, on her feast day, several episodes of her past life and her current days. They spend cultivating her passions: from Sardinian culinary traditions, of which she is a great expert, to manual crochet work, to gardening on her terrace ".
The President Edoardo Tocco, in bringing the wishes of the whole city, gave the new Centenary a commemorative medal and a souvenir parchment.
