A large pine tree fell this evening onto the asphalt of Viale Sant'Ignazio in Cagliari. It was only by chance that there were no cars parked underneath, and only because of the time of day—late evening—no one was passing by. The tree fell onto the street that houses several university departments.

Stefania Loi, a Fratelli d'Italia city councilor, denounced the incident: "The councilor for green spaces, this illustrious unknown, continues to appear only at press conferences and promises to 'care for our tree population.' " But then this is the result."

It happens, Loi points out, "just a few meters from the entrance to the Economics department and the Pollicino bus stop, areas crossed every day by students, workers, and families. And as we witness this scene, it's hard to forget when some people cried foul against "Truzzu Chainsaw," whose only crime was cataloging and securing the unsafe and diseased trees. Now that the trees are falling on their own... silence."
