Cagliari, a 60 million “hole” in Tari: Municipality and Guardia di Finanza sign a pact against tax evasion
The annual revenue shortfall is 12 million euros, Mayor Zedda: «By recovering the funds we could eliminate the taxation system»It is one of the main focuses of the Cagliari municipal administration, the fight against Tari evasion to make those who regularly pay the waste tax (the vast majority of citizens) pay less. Massimo Zedda's council signs a collaboration agreement with the Guardia di Finanza. What does it include? Palazzo Baaredda - for example - will send the Fiamme Gialle the list of subjects for which, based on the information available in the offices, anomalies and inconsistencies have emerged that require specific control activities. In short, hard times are looming for evaders.
This is an exchange of data and information that on paper appears very concrete . And the agreement was signed today in the Municipality. "Unfortunately, in recent years the number of tax evaders has grown, due to the elimination of the control system of the Local Police that had a dedicated unit of agents. This at the time dealt with sanctions, verification, the progress of Tari positions and therefore payments. We have restored this unit and today in collaboration with the Guardia di Finanza we have an increase in control activity", says Mayor Massimo Zedda.
In Cagliari the "hole" created by those who do not pay the Tari amounts to about 60 million euros (accumulated in the last five years). The annual loss of revenue is 12 million euros , so, "recovering only on the Tari, not to mention the other taxes, we could knock down the taxation system to also determine better services", says Zedda.
