Off to the water requalification works in Budoni .

The intervention, approved by Egas, the Government Body of the Sardinia Area, and based on a project by Abbanoa, is part of a broader program involving the territories of Galtellì, Irgoli, Nuoro, Oliena, Orosei, San Teodoro and Siniscola .

Budoni, a center with a main tourist vocation which has undergone considerable demographic growth in recent years, today has a network that is unsuitable for withstanding the peaks in attendance, especially during the summer period. To adapt the water network to the needs of the area, over sixty technical interventions have therefore been planned , including the replacement of pipes that run under 37 streets in the Budoni town center and 18 streets in the locality of Tanaunella for over 12 kilometers of new pipelines , the reconnection of 874 users, as well as extraordinary maintenance work on the dividers and tanks of Birgalavò and Tanaunella and the construction of a new tank of approximately 500 cubic meters in the Budoni area. The planned interventions also include the construction of the new pipeline serving the tourist center of Sant'Anna and the replacement of the approach pipeline from the Tanaunella reservoir.

The project, financed with over 130 thousand euros from the FSC 2014-2020 Development and Cohesion Fund, concerns a first intervention and provides for the renovation of the Birgalavò and Tanaunella tanks, with the reactivation of the Birgalavò tank and the renovation of the manhole maneuvering of the Tanaunella tank.

«It is a first intervention – explains the president of Egas, Fabio Albieri – which launches a more massive programming in a particular area for the north-east coast of the island; a place that has invested in its expansion linked to tourism, and which must be put in a position to guarantee its citizens and guests the best possible welcome».
