This afternoon, two pensioners lost their bearings near the Italia 800 trail in the Sette Fratelli mountains.

Their SOS was received by the operations room of the Cagliari fire brigade, which initiated the search and rescue protocol, mobilizing the ground operations team, the specialized SAF (Speleo Alpino Fluviale) personnel and the Alghero flight department.

Upon arriving at the scene, the helicopter crew located the two missing men. After recovering them on board, the crew transported them to a suitable landing area, where they were handed over to 118 paramedics for routine medical checks.

Alpine Rescue technicians took part in the search operations on the field.
