On the eve of the plenary meeting of the municipal councils convened in Scano Montiferro, the atmosphere appears unsettled. Tensions are rising over the failure to officially convene the Bosa City Council until last night, a situation that has raised eyebrows among minority group leaders Alessandro Campus and Angelo Masala.
The two councilors express deep concern over the silence of the municipal administration. "We hope that Mayor Alfonso Marras," they state, "will accept the invitation of the Union of Municipalities of Planargia, which has requested a joint meeting of the municipal councils to discuss and deliberate on the sensitive issue of school size." At the heart of the controversy is the Marras administration's proposal to establish a comprehensive institute that would encompass all levels of education, from preschool to high school. According to Campus and Masala, this decision was made unilaterally.
"The consequences could be very serious," they emphasize, "risking isolating Bosa from the rest of the region, weakening its leadership role, and ignoring the concerns expressed by school staff. The issue isn't just technical," Campus and Masala argue, "but above all political and social. Teaching and school organization are part of a community that must engage in dialogue, not impose itself. Let's hope institutional arrogance doesn't prevail."
The councilors ask Mayor Marras, also in his capacity as regional councilor, to act responsibly. "We need discussion, not exasperation, because only in this way can shared and lasting solutions be achieved. The City Council remains the natural forum for democratically addressing decisions that affect the educational future of the entire region."
