Death threats, punches and kicks even when she was pregnant, up to the attempt to strangle her. The abuse, which went on for over two years, against his ex-wife cost a 42-year-old of Tunisian origin resident in Bosa a sentence of 3 years and six months. The man, also accused of assault, did not ask for the alternative sanction of semi-liberty to avoid immediate expulsion from Italy.
The story began three years ago when the couple's cohabitation had become impossible. According to what emerged during the investigation, the man constantly insulted his ex-wife, beat her with punches and kicks even when she was expecting their daughter.
On several occasions he went as far as to tighten his hands around her neck: a hell made even more difficult because it often happened under the eyes of the little girls. Furthermore, the 42-year-old allegedly forced the woman to ask her mother for money to try to stem the increasingly critical economic situation given that he squandered the money.
A situation on the edge until the woman (assisted by the lawyer Vittorio Delogu) reported her ex-partner (defended by Giovanni Trimarchi) who ended up on trial for mistreatment and injuries. Today the panel presided over by judge Carla Altieri sentenced the man to 3 years and 6 months; the prosecutor Valerio Bagattini had asked for a sentence of two years and 8 months.
