Despite boasting an extraordinary territory for its natural beauty, environmental richness, and diverse landscapes, the city of Bosa has always been affected by a structural fragility that is especially evident during the winter months. It's not uncommon for heavy rains and strong winds to cause alarm and concern, but this start to the year is putting the entire civil defense system to the test . The latest incident occurred late yesterday evening, when a landslide occurred along the Turas-Pessighette municipal road.

A large boulder broke away from the rock face, likely weakened by the persistent rainfall of recent weeks and gusts of mistral wind. Fortunately, no injuries or damage to people or vehicles were reported, but the incident confirms the area's vulnerability to sudden hazards. The Municipality has announced the temporary closure of the road between Pianu and Murtas-Abbamala and Pessighette . The road will reopen only after the rocks have been removed and the area has been secured, operations scheduled for today.

High alert remains throughout the municipality, where technical teams are constantly monitoring the most critical points. Dangers also arise from the coastal road to Alghero , already affected by frequent subsidence and landslides. And just two days ago, a warning was issued downstream from the Monte Crispu dam , a sign of an area struggling to respond to increasingly intense and frequent rainfall.

In Turas , however, a few days ago, a stretch of buttress near the road collapsed due to violent storm surges, further exacerbating an already complex situation . Deputy Mayor and Civil Protection Councilor Federico Ledda is on the front lines managing this delicate phase.

"We secured the road area adjacent to the collapse with the intervention of the Fire Department and maintenance services," Ledda explains. "Work on the Turas staircase stalled because, between the design stage and the site handover, the condition of the wall changed. It began to collapse in a very short time, eroded at its base by water. And the available funds, even though allocated entirely to the wall, are insufficient." Ledda also points out that the road is a provincial road and the beach is state-owned , so definitive safety requires the intervention of the relevant authorities, with coordinated and timely action.

Finally, an appeal to the public. "It is essential," Ledda emphasizes, "not to cross the security barriers to take videos or photographs. It's already happening, and this behavior puts people's safety at risk and hinders the work of the teams on site."
