He rose to fame with his first feature film, "Bandidos e Balentes - The Unwritten Code," a 2017 film about banditry and feuds in Sardinia in the 1950s, which received numerous awards, particularly for its cinematography. Sardinian director Fabio Manuel Mulas returns to Bono, his hometown, this time to receive another award: honorary citizenship. Mayor Michele Solinas, representing the entire municipal administration, bestowed upon him in the council chamber. The award was given to the international actor, writer, screenwriter, and film producer, who directed "Bandidos e Balentes 2 - The Reckoning," "for having brought prestige to the entire Bono community, earning prestigious national and international recognition."

The award-winning director, back behind the camera, is filming the new thriller on the island but also in Valencia, and after the Asinara National Park and its marine protected area, Ogliastra, the Barbagia di Ollolai, he returned to the Burgos forest and to Bono, the Goceano village that preserves his roots.

"I thank Mayor Michele Solinas, the entire city council, and the community for awarding me honorary citizenship of Bono, of which I am very proud," said Mulas. The cast of the new Bandidos e Balentes 2 is Sardinian, with a few Neapolitan figures. All are non-professionals, members of a cast that will feature some of the international jet set's icons in special performances. The director also wants to pay homage to great Sardinian voices, such as Maria Carta and Andrea Parodi. Set between the 1970s and the 2000s, the film casts a new light on the world of feuds and the struggle between different factions.
