Request for indictment for the alleged theft of money from the victim, dismissal for the hypothesis of murder: this is the picture that emerges from the hearing of the preliminary hearing judge today in Tempio on the case of Rosa Bechere, the pensioner from Olbia who disappeared at the end of November 2022.

The Tempio Prosecutor's Office has requested the trial of Maria Giovanna Meloni and Giorgio Beccu , friends of Rosa Bechere. The crimes contested are robbery, assault, theft and use of credit cards. According to the Gallura Prosecutor's Office, before disappearing into thin air, Rosa Bechere (60 years old) was robbed.

The judge did not deal with the case, postponing everything until March at the request of criminal lawyer Angelo Merlini who will support the lawyer Giampaolo Murrighile in the defense of the couple. But on the sidelines of the hearing the magistrates confirmed that the case for the hypothesis of homicide, opened against Meloni and Beccu, has been archived.

No evidence was found of the use of benzodiazepine-based drugs to stun the victim, rob her and eliminate her. Maria Giovanna Meloni and Giorgio Beccu underwent interrogations, searches of houses, cars and boats, DNA tests and other activities lasting months, from which nothing emerged against them. It also emerged that the investigating judge of Tempio and then the Review Court of Sassari, considered the elements collected on the hypotheses of robbery, injuries, theft and use of credit cards not sufficient for precautionary measures.
