The trial against the former president of Confindustria Sardegna and former CEO of Sogaer (Cagliari airport management company) Alberto Scanu, accused of bankruptcy for a series of bankruptcies of some companies of its group.

The 53-year-old well-known businessman from Cagliari had been indicted by the gup Maria Gabriella Muscas who had rejected the plea bargaining request.

With Scanu, for a series of bankruptcy charges and other crimes, Valdemiro Giuseppe Peviani, Paolo Zapparoli, Pier Domenico Gallo, Paolo Moro, Caterina Della Mora, Domenico Falchi and Enrico Gaia are also judged by the college chaired by Giovanni Massidda.

This morning the bankruptcy trustee Agnese Cau, examined by the public prosecutor Giangiacomo Pilia, was heard in the courtroom. The former president of Confindustria, defended by the lawyer Rodolfo Meloni, was not present in the courtroom.

For the Public Prosecutor - which coordinated the investigations of the Finance - some companies of the Scanu group would have been made to fail in a whirlwind round of money, thus generating a "hole" of 60 million euros.

The position of Laura Scanu, sister of the main defendant, who had negotiated 4 years of imprisonment, had already been removed during the investigation.

The trial will continue on March 25 and April 29.
