«After the escape of the boss Marco Raduano, the situation in the Badu 'e Carros prison in Nuoro has remained unchanged. On the contrary, it continues to get worse despite the commitments made by Minister Nordio and an inspection by the Justice Commission of the Chamber of Deputies ».

In the aftermath of the mobilization of prison officers, who denounce unsustainable working conditions, Francesca Ghirra, deputy of the Verdi and Sinistra Alliance , takes sides in their favor and presents a new question.

«At the end of March – he writes – Minister Nordio replied to my question with the commitment to ensure the restoration of adequate conditions of safety and operational efficiency in the prison of Badu 'e Carros and to fill the existing staff shortages, but as of today nothing has changed. Despite the efforts of the Superintendent, the Director, the Guarantor and all the prison staff, there are so many problems, starting with the lack of personnel: there are over 60 units missing, a number that does not allow for optimal management of security and the well-being of the staff, forced to shifts of service that extend far beyond what is established by the regulations and who too often have to give up holidays and rest days".

"The current staffing - he concludes - does not allow shifts to be carried out correctly without key safety posts being constantly covered , the structure needs urgent renovations, the building does not have adequate rooms for medical first aid and the Region does not guarantee the necessary psychiatric and psychological support to prisoners. For these reasons, I have presented a new question to the minister, to find out what extraordinary and urgent initiatives he intends to carry forward to guarantee the safety of prisoners and staff and the full functioning of the Badu 'e Carros prison facility. I trust that this time words will be followed by deeds".
