From Monday 6 March , the Badu 'e Carros prison, the Nuoro prison from which the Apulian boss Marco Raduano escaped on Friday , will have a new commander .

The first consequence of the daring escape was therefore the torpedoing of the old commander Francesco Dessì . Leading the institute will be Amerigo Fusco, director of the Penitentiary Police currently in command of the Opera prison in Milan .

The decision will last three months, made by the Department of Penitentiary Administration which had launched an investigation into the sensational escape. It was adopted, explains the Dap, for the purpose of "temporarily entrusting the command of the Department of the Penitentiary Institute in question to a prison police officer with proven experience and ability, in order to guarantee the restoration of adequate conditions of safety and operational efficiency ».

The provision, reads the note from the Dap, "stems from the desire to entrust a particularly delicate task to one of the best commanders of the Corps, who accepted the transfer with generosity and a spirit of service ".

" All the investigations urgently requested in recent days by the Dap himself to the Regional Superintendent of Sardinia remain in progress".

The CISL speaks of " a consolidated practice, a procedure that the administration normally adopts in these cases ".

«We believe - explains Giovanni Villa, secretary of the Fsn Cisl Sardegna - that it is a question of a temporary suspension of the current commander until the whole matter is solved. We have confidence in what the work of the Dap inspection will be and we await the results of these checks ».
