A new unit for the summer tourist emergency has been activated in the emergency room of Olbia , in addition to the nine offices already identified in Gallura for non-resident citizens ( Vignola, Isola Rossa, Santa Teresa Gallura, Palau, Arzachena, Golfo Aranci, Porto San Paolo, San Teodoro and Budoni ). A low-intensity continuity of care service.
«The project to give breathing space to the Emergency Room structures continues - comments the Director General of the ASL Gallura, Marcello Acciaro - and as soon as the possibility of implementing the continuity of care service opened up, we gave legs to this very important activity for Gallura , bringing the principals for non-resident citizens from nine to ten. The action to deal with the tourist emergency is therefore going ahead with the utmost effort: even in a historic moment where the lack of doctors, especially in the emergency-urgency sector, is tangible throughout the national health system, we are managing to find the human resources to guarantee the services. The Emergency Departments have been strengthened with additional staff and the Emergency Medical Service is active at the Giovanni Paolo II hospital in Olbia, which can provide support for the management of the white and green codes. Again for the latter , throughout Gallura there are currently ten continuity of care offices for tourists. These are services designed to allow us to resist the tourist wave, to reduce waiting times in healthcare facilities for the benefit of residents and visitors and to put all staff in a better position to work. Further possibilities are opening up for the enhancement of the service and in the next few days we will activate other continuity of care offices in the area ».
The clinics are open for ten hours a day (from 9 to 13 and from 14 to 20) in the offices of the Tourist Guards. They provide for the presence of general practitioners and continuity of care doctors. Healthcare services, certifications and bindings for visits, exams and medicines may be provided. The performance will cost 20 euros.
It will also be possible to request home visits : the rate is equal to 35 euros. The service is intended for the management of white and green codes. For the most critical situations, users can contact the Unique Emergency Number 112.
