A direct link between Civil Protection and citizens to manage emergencies in real time. A new mobile notification system is active today in Quartu, designed to inform the public about weather alerts and environmental risks in the municipal and regional area, as well as to locate citizens in high-risk areas, allowing for timely intervention.
This new initiative, promoted by the municipal administration, is implemented with the Tetralert app. Not only is information just a click away, but residents who download the app will also be able to consult dynamic maps to learn about the type of risk, learn more about evacuation procedures, and quickly find out how to reach the nearest assembly points.
This operating mode is also useful for rescuers, as it allows them to instantly identify the location of users in dangerous areas.
The TetrAlert app is available free of charge starting today. "We encourage every resident to install the app," Mayor Graziano Milia urged. "In times of emergency, having accurate and timely information on your smartphone can make all the difference. Furthermore, in times of adverse weather conditions, we could have more immediate mapping of critical situations, allowing the Municipal Operations Center to plan its actions based on emergencies. Climate change is creating increasingly high-risk conditions. For this reason, we must increasingly use the most modern technological tools, which greatly assist us in combating this threat," the mayor concluded.
In addition to the app, a messaging service is available that notifies residents in real time of weather alerts issued by the Region. To receive text or voice messages, you must subscribe through the following link: https://quartusantelena.tetralert.it/. "We reiterate our invitation to subscribe to the messaging service as well, as it's a quick and essential tool for alerts," adds Milia.
