Investigations continue to reconstruct all the details of the organization of the attack on the two armored vehicles on the Aurelia, in the province of Livorno, carried out on March 28 by the gang of Sardinian robbers arrested in recent days.
The recipients of the precautionary measures are: Giovanni Columbu , 40 years old, from Ollolai, Renzo Cherchi , 39 years old, resident in Irgoli, Alberto Mura , 40 years old, resident in Ottana, Antonio Moni , 46 years old, originally from Nuoro and resident in Castelnuovo Val di Cecina (Pisa), Francesco Palmas , 45 years old, from Jerzu, Francesco Rocca , 47 years old, from Orotelli, Franco Piras , 46 years old, resident in Bari Sardo, Marco Sulis , 36 years old, resident in Villagrande Strisaili, Nicola Fois , 33 years old, from Girasole, Salvatore Campus , 51 years old, from Olzai, 51 years old, and Salvatore Giovanni Antonio Tilocca , 45 years old, born in Ozieri and resident in Bottidda.
The gang, according to what emerged from the investigation, had "planned" the robbery by making repeated trips between Sardinia and Tuscany in the months preceding the attack . Trips were made by ship and in pairs, always fixed and tested.
In addition to fully reconstructing the methods used to carry out the robbery of March 28, investigators are also trying to understand whether there could be links between the Aurelia commando and other assaults on armored vehicles in the recent past, as well as with the one against the Mondialpol vault in Sassari in June 2024.
