Today the autopsy will clarify the mystery surrounding the death of Antonio Giuseppe Atzori , the 65-year-old found dead yesterday afternoon in the family home in via Pani, in Arbus.

Prosecutor Danilo Tronci instructed the coroner Roberto Demontis to carry out the examination which will establish how the man died, a wound behind the head emerged from an initial external examination .

All hypotheses are being examined by the investigators. The man, suffering from various serious pathologies, may have fallen, hitting his head on the ground and dying shortly after. But murder cannot be ruled out .

The carabinieri of the Villacidro Company, coordinated by the commander Francesco Capula, and colleagues from the Operations Department who arrived from Cagliari are dealing with the case.

The 65-year-old's body was discovered yesterday afternoon , around 4 pm, by a neighbor who smelled a bad smell coming from the house . The soldiers of the Arma immediately arrived on the scene. Atzori's corpse was on the floor in the bathroom of the house, in a pool of blood. Other traces of blood would have been found in other parts of the house, including the bedroom.

At home there were all his possessions, wallet and mobile phone, the house was in a mess. The prosecutor, the coroner and the staff of the Operations Department who took care of the findings then arrived on the spot. During the night the body was transferred to the cemetery of San Michele in Cagliari where an autopsy will be performed.

Atzori was already known to law enforcement. Almost 18 years ago in that house during a dispute he had stabbed his brother, while in 2009 he had been stabbed himself for trivial reasons .
