Alghero, volunteers of Mercy in procession in the rain

The rain didn't stop the volunteers of the Confraternity of Mercy who gathered in Piazza della Mercede to start a procession up to Piazza Pino Piras.
«It is not a protest procession», immediately clarified Don Giampiero Piras , head of the Misericordia of Alghero, «but a gathering of all the volunteers so that the city sees the faces of men and women, young people and pensioners who offer to others not the time that goes on, but the time they dedicate with joy and disinterest to make suffering lighter and everyone's life more human".
Recently there has been much talk of the Misericordia headquarters in Alghero which ended up at auction on the decision of the Province of Sassari which then, however, retraced its steps by suspending the sale of the property.
