Another hellish day for Sardinia, with as many as 30 fires raging across the region. Eleven blazes required immediate intervention by regional and national air forces, while a massive firefighting machine was deployed on the ground to contain the flames, often fueled by a merciless wind.

Carbonia and San Giovanni Suergiu became the epicenter of an emergency that took on dramatic proportions. In both cases, the flames spread threateningly right up to homes .

In Carbonia, in the Campu Frassolis area, the fire reached such a size that it required the deployment of two regional helicopters—an Ecureuil and a Superpuma—two Canadairs from the national fleet, and an Italian Air Force helicopter . The operations were coordinated by the Iglesias Fire Control Center and the firefighting operations directors (DOS) of the Carbonia and Sant'Antioco forestry stations.

Not far away, a second large fire broke out in San Giovanni Suergiu, in the Is Urigus area. Some homes were evacuated .

Here too, flames threatened the rural area, and several Forestas teams and volunteers were deployed to combat a blaze that had devoured hectares of reed beds. Two Canadair aircraft and a regional helicopter were also deployed to provide support.

The situation is also critical in the rest of the island. In Lu Sassu, in the municipality of Nulvi , the fire has regained strength where it had been extinguished only a few days ago, forcing the intervention of ground teams and a helicopter from Anela.

The same scenario occurred in Nurri, Bono, Bottidda, Torpè, Senorbì, and Castelsardo, where the flames devastated areas of Mediterranean scrub, wooded pastures, and agricultural land. Operations were further complicated by the morphology of the terrain and the presence of numerous residential buildings, which in several cases triggered alerts for interface fires.

In Maracalagonis, in the Funtana Flummini area, flames reached the edges of the urban area, threatening homes and residents. The combined efforts of volunteers, barracelli, and firefighters prevented further damage.

And another fire broke out in a warehouse of the land reclamation consortium in Villasor .
