The alleged accomplice of the Dalí-masked robber who raided several commercial establishments in the city between January and February has been arrested in Alghero .

The suspect is a young man who allegedly supported the robber both in planning the robberies and in reinvesting the proceeds. He also allegedly participated in the execution of the robbery on at least one occasion, inspecting the premises shortly beforehand. The Carabinieri determined that the two accomplices reinvested the proceeds of the robberies to purchase drugs, which were then resold at retail in the city .

The two were already planning other attacks, one in particular targeting an ATM in the historic center of Alghero. They wanted to procure explosive devices to blow it up .

The Carabinieri, having collected the evidence, handed it over to the Sassari Prosecutor's Office, which requested and obtained a precautionary measure from the investigating judge. The young man was subsequently located yesterday and taken to Bancali prison .

The investigation, as is known, stems from the robberies (three completed, two attempted against supermarkets, a pharmacy, a tobacconist and an electronics store) carried out by the masked robber between January and February.

The man was arrested in March and confessed , but the Carabinieri investigation is continuing to identify any possible accomplices. There are two others, a woman and a man, both reported, in addition to the young man arrested today, who contributed "in a more significant manner" to the criminal plan .
