Not just the Costa Smeralda. These days, Alghero Airport is seeing a record influx of private jets from all over the world: an apron more crowded than ever, hosting aircraft owned by entrepreneurs, tycoons, and prominent international figures. Among them, even a giant of the skies, the Airbus 340-500, confirming the growing strategic importance of the Alghero airport during the high-end summer season. This is according to Michele Pais, leader of the Northern League party.

"An encouraging sign," he says, "that demonstrates how our airport is becoming a hub for luxury tourism." But the former regional council president makes an appeal: "We can't limit ourselves to being just a luxury parking lot or a transit hub for jets and crews. We must ensure that Alghero becomes a true destination, a place to stay, not just a place to land."

Pais is considering expanding the airport and developing the nautical industry. "Just now," Pais emphasizes, "we learned that confidential talks are underway in Sardinian waters, off the Costa Smeralda, between representatives of the United States, Israel, and Qatar, to negotiate a possible truce in the Gaza Strip and the release of the hostages. This is a powerful signal: Sardinia is now perceived as an ideal location not only for exclusive tourism, but also for international diplomacy. A secluded, safe, and extraordinarily beautiful land."
