He had announced it in recent weeks, so it was. And on the evening of Friday 29th, the nineteen year old from Villacidro, Alberto Murgia reached the North Cape on his bike.
A real crossing for Murgia, who left the island last October and arrived in Norway after passing through Italy, Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic and Denmark with his bike. Thousands of kilometers in sub-zero temperatures, but which certainly didn't scare him, accompanying him to his goal.

«I'm used to it», laughs Murgia, «after arriving in the Arctic Circle, I continued straight through snowfall and prohibitive weather in Swedish territory arriving in the Karesuando village, on the border with Finland. Here I had one of the most difficult days of the trip, finding a road open to the winds with very strong storms. And the limited vision."

And then: « On the coast the temperatures were warmer, down to zero degrees, amidst wonderful views and fjords. Upon returning to Norway I reached the cities of Tromso and Alta. Here I spent Christmas with a family who offered me hospitality, before leaving for the North Cape. Which I reached at 4pm, with a route under the full moon and a favorable wind."
There was no shortage of shots with the flag of the four Moors, immortalizing a unique moment: «Now comes the most difficult phase with the gradual return to Sardinia. Cold temperatures and new obstacles await me. I met many respectable people who welcomed me with a bed and hot food."
And while the descent home has already begun, on Murgia's social channels there is no shortage of appreciation from hundreds of followers, enchanted by the Nordic landscapes and amazed by the young man's feat. Who clarifies, once again: «I don't consider myself a daredevil. I do it for the love of the environment and driven by a lot of passion, raising awareness of eco-sustainable tourism. The affection of the people accompanies me every kilometre."
