A new speed camera is installed on the 554 in Quartu. FdI (Italian Federation of Independent Italians) says "Safety isn't achieved through fines."
Melonians, following the announcement of the installation of a T-Red system, said: "The road's redevelopment was announced for 2025, but there's no sign of any construction work."Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
Far from a complete redesign by summer 2024, which was supposed to protect road users. "We're at the end of 2025, and the only announcement on 554-Viale Europa concerns the installation of another speed camera: true safety isn't achieved through fines."
The Brothers of Italy city council is attacking Quartu Mayor Graziano Milia. The reason is the recent announcement of the installation of a T-Red system at the intersection of Via Marconi and Viale Europa (Road 554).
The announced safety measures were extensive and included roundabouts instead of intersections, sidewalks, and bike lanes. "Today," the FdI (Italian Federation of Road Traffic) protests, "the only intervention we see is yet another sanctioning tool. Not even a hint of construction work." And for modern and safe roads, we'll have to wait.
"We're at the end of 2025, and the transformation of Viale Europa," the Quartesi Melonians continue, "is just a list of unfulfilled promises . Meanwhile, they're rushing to fix things with the T-Red, touting it as a solution to the road's structural problems."
The FdI coordination concludes by emphasizing that road safety requires structural interventions, not punitive measures: "We demand clarity and a clear timeline for the start of construction. The people of Quartu don't deserve an administration that invokes 'safety' to mask delays, uncertainties, and short-sighted decisions. The T-Red cannot become a pretext for justifying the stagnation of a project that continues to fail to materialize ."
