The young man driving the BMW that fell off the bridge on the Baldu-L'Agnata road last night, falling for around ten metres and causing the death of Omar Masia , 25 years old from Calangianus, tested positive to the alcohol test .

The blood alcohol level was slightly above the legal limit, very close to the threshold but above it : for this reason the boy could be reported to the Prosecutor's Office, not arrested.

Meanwhile, the Tempio Pausania prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into the tragic accident and seized the vehicle. Masia's body is available to investigators; the prosecutor will decide on an autopsy tomorrow.

Drama within a drama: Omar Masia is the son of Massimiliano, a firefighter who intervened to provide first aid and witnessed the car recovery operations in shock .

There were five people in the car, headed to a graduation party. For reasons yet to be determined, the vehicle skidded and went off the road, passing through the fragile metal pipes that were supposed to serve as guardrails and falling about ten meters from the bridge .

The other four occupants of the vehicle were saved by a matter of a few meters. The car had landed on rocks in a dry riverbed. But if it had ended up a little further, toward the bridge, they would all have drowned, as there is water immediately below the bridge.

The boys have multiple injuries but are doing well; one has already been discharged. Two of them raised the alarm : with no cell phone signal and no cars passing by, they managed to get out of the overturned vehicle and walk to a nearby home .

Omar Masia, an electrician by profession, was sitting in the back seat: he died instantly.
