I waited in line for two hours with my two-month-old baby to complete a medical procedure, then was unable to provide the service because it was closing time at the SAU multifunctional office, the Single Assistance Service of the Porto Torres ASL Outpatient Clinic .

This happened this morning to a patient who had gone to the facility to request a co-pay exemption for her daughter's treatment, after an initial failed attempt on Tuesday the 27th. This was due to downed phone lines at hospitals, districts, and nearly all facilities in Northwest Sardinia, which were unreachable by phone or email. Internet problems also affected the front office services at the Andriolu Outpatient Clinic, where staff were unable to respond to requests from residents.

"I understand this situation well," explains Pietro, the little girl's grandfather , "but what I can't tolerate is the refusal of service. After receiving the booking number and waiting two hours, we found the SAU office closed for exceeding opening hours, leaving us with no way to complete the process we've been working on for days. This is due to poor service, a lack of flexibility, and a lack of sensitivity on the part of the local health authority."

The numbers are delivered by an operator, with the service closing at 12:30 PM. "On Tuesday afternoon, October 27th, my daughter had gone to the facility without getting any results due to internet service disruptions," Sini explains, "so she tried again this morning, starting at 10:30 AM, using the waiting number, convinced she could accommodate her request, especially considering it involved a two-month-old baby. The operator, however, urgently closed the service, located in the outdoor area, while patients waited in the internal waiting room, disregarding the needs of a newborn baby and after a two-hour wait."

The little girl's grandfather asked to speak to the administrative staff. "In the meantime, I have filed a report with the relevant authorities, the Local Health Authority (ASL) management, and the Porto Torres Municipality Office for information, and," he specifies, " I am ready to file a complaint with the Sassari Public Prosecutor's Office ."
