His name was Fabio Cappai and the 23-year-old boy was of Sardinian origin who was stabbed last night in Castel del Rio, in the Bolognese area.
The young man had moved with his family, worked as a worker in a company in the valley and was well known and well liked in the village. A willing boy, as described by those who knew him, second of three brothers.
The fatal attack took place in a sheltered spot in the "Marco Simoncelli" center, where there are also sports facilities. It would have broken out for futile reasons: a joke, an innocent mockery . The intervention of the 118 rescuers was useless, as they could only ascertain Cappai's death.
A 17-year-old minor residing in a neighboring municipality was arrested for the crime . The investigations of the carabinieri are coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office for minors of Bologna, led by Silvia Marzocchi. The minor, tracked down and questioned, admitted the facts, which had arisen after a quarrel with a group of boys. Now he is in the Pratello prison in Bologna.

“We are all literally disconcerted and very pained , it is as if it had happened to one of our brothers, it is a moment of great sadness and pain”, so the mayor Alberto Baldazzi expresses the mood of the village of just 1,200 inhabitants.
“Tomorrow evening at 9 pm in front of the church - reads a post published on the Facebook page of the Municipality - a torchlight procession will take place in memory of our friend and fellow villager Fabio who left us last night. Upon returning, a short rosary will be said ”.
