She was sentenced to 10 years in prison for attempting to kill her husband with rat poison. This is the first-instance sentence in a trial with an abbreviated procedure before the preliminary hearing judge of Rimini for a 48-year-old Moldovan citizen, who allegedly administered the rat poison to her husband, mixing it in his food.

According to the woman's lawyer, "at the moment my client is free and subject to the prohibition of approaching the injured party and we will certainly appeal as we believe that the expert opinion of our medical examiner should be taken into consideration according to which the doses of poison were not such as to cause death. That is, non-lethal doses for which the hypothesis of crime that would have arisen is that of serious injuries". The public prosecutor Luca Bertuzzi, at the end of his closing speech, had requested a sentence of 10 years of imprisonment for attempted murder and the preliminary hearing judge Raffaella Ceccarelli fully accepted the prosecution's thesis, also sentencing the woman to compensate the injured party with 31 thousand euros.

According to the investigations, the 48-year-old would have tried to kill her husband little by little, as one does with rats, that is, with poison mixed in the food. The story emerged due to the husband's continuous hospitalizations for heavy bleeding that had aroused the suspicions of the doctors at the Infermi hospital. Subsequent analyses had therefore revealed the presence of Bromadiolone and Coumatetralyl present in rat poisons. The 48-year-old was arrested on June 28, 2023 when during a search the flying squad found a syringe containing rat poison in a drawer of the couple's bedroom closet.
