Alert across Italy for possible devastation and looting this weekend.
Following last weekend's riots, the Interior Ministry has taken preventive action: checks were carried out in dozens of cities, identifying around a hundred people, half of whom were minors. Milan, already the scene of the most violent clashes, is preparing: 500 paratroopers sent by the government are arriving, the city center is under lockdown, and many shopkeepers have decided to lower their shutters, despite Mayor Beppe Sala's plea: "Don't close."
Demonstrations are also expected in Turin, Rome, and other locations, although the newly formed October 17 Movement warns: "The announced demonstrations have been cancelled. We will only announce the three gatherings in each city and the final square at the last minute."
