One hundred municipalities involved, over 36,000 displaced people, damages for billions of euros . It is the image of Emilia Romagna on its knees after the devastation caused by the floods of recent days. The red alert for the weather remains active for today too: it should be the last rainy day and the sun should shine in the afternoon. The floods of the rivers are running out, but the risk of landslides remains very high. In fact, the flood moved eastwards: after having devastated Forlì, Cesena and Faenza, the critical situation moved to Ravenna. Here there have been no floods of major rivers, but all the water that fell on the ground and swelled the rivers flowed into the sea, also causing the dense network of canals to swell which in many cases did not hold water.

There are 14 confirmed victims, a number that cannot yet be considered definitive.

Yesterday morning a new tragedy came close : a private helicopter flying on behalf of Enel to try to resolve the situation of the thousands of people who are still without electricity and who was attempting an emergency landing, crashed in Belricetto di Lugo , in the province of Ravenna. The worst was feared, but there were no victims: four people were injured, taken away in an air ambulance.

In areas where the water is starting to recede, people continue to shovel mud and try to save something. There are many volunteers, especially young and very young, who have independently directed themselves towards the cities and towns that have ended up under water.
