A 42-year-old man was arrested by Carabinieri on the Amalfi Coast on charges of sexually abusing a minor.

The girl herself, a 15-year-old American tourist on vacation with her family in Ravello, recounted what happened. The 42-year-old Egyptian national, legally present in Italy and an employee of the hotel where the young woman was staying with her family, allegedly attacked and raped her, taking advantage of her parents' absence.

After the abuse, the teenager called her father and told him everything. He immediately joined her: crossing paths with the alleged attacker on the street, he attempted to attack him in retaliation. The Carabinieri managed to stop him, subsequently arresting the perpetrator, who was transferred to Fuorni prison, pending validation of his arrest.

The girl was taken to the Salerno hospital, where she received first aid and support from medical staff. The investigation, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office, is continuing under the strictest confidentiality. Investigators are gathering witness statements and video surveillance footage to reconstruct the exact sequence of events.
