Investigations underway in Puglia after the death of a doctor at the Giannuzzi hospital in Manduria (Taranto).

The man - Giovanni Buccoliero, 61 - suffered an illness, which proved fatal, during a tour of hospitalized patients.

The Taranto Public Prosecutor's Office has lit a light on the affair , after the hypothesis has been advanced that the death of the professional may be linked to work-related stress . The unions have in fact denounced "grueling shifts" for health workers .

The carabinieri thus entered into action at the Manduria hospital, who acquired documents, records, timetables and duty shifts, at the request of the Taranto prosecutor, Eugenia Pentassuglia , who opened an investigation file, at the moment without suspects.

"The health situation in Taranto - says the provincial secretary of the CGIL of Taranto, Paolo Peluso - deserved to be investigated immediately, while we are still awaiting a call from the Taranto health authority to which in the aftermath of the tragic death of the doctor of the Giannuzzi di Manduria, had asked to act quickly. For this reason I believe that we must move to mobilization to prevent the alarm condition that is experiencing the need for health of the territory, from slowly disappearing from the radar ".
