“When I found out I said, ‘I can’t believe it.’ Now the State has to give me explanations because something like this is not possible.”
This is the outburst, to the microphones of the program La Zanzara on Radio 24 , of Imma Rizzo, mother of Noemi Durini, the 16-year-old girl killed in 2017 by her ex-boyfriend, then a minor, Lucio Marzo, in Castrignano del Capo.
Indignant words that refer to the bonus permits obtained since March , which have caused much discussion, triggering controversy.
It was during one of these permits, in August 2023, Marzo, definitively sentenced to 18 years and 8 months and who was serving his sentence in the juvenile prison of Quartucciu and was the beneficiary of a permit to work in a shop in Sarroch, was stopped drunk while driving a souped-up car, which had not stopped at the police checkpoint. All this despite the fact that among the provisions of the surveillance judge there was a ban on driving motor vehicles. But Marzo – now detained in Bollate, in the Milan area – was also allowed to go to the Domus to watch Cagliari matches and to date a girl he met in Sardinia.
Imma Rizzo, Noemi's mother, however, does not agree: " The laws must be changed, there must not be special permits for those who commit such heinous crimes" , she added, interviewed by Giuseppe Cruciani .
And again: "Is prison supposed to re-educate? But is going to the stadium re-education? He didn't go volunteer in senior centers! And then: find a girlfriend? At risk and danger after what he did to my daughter?"
"The State is not there - the bitter conclusion of Noemi's mother - while I go to cry for my daughter every day. But until the Minister of Justice gives me answers I will continue to write to him and express my indignation".
