The Revenue Agency under attack by cyber pirates .
The Postal Police is in fact conducting investigations after a group of hackers - named LockBit - allegedly violated the Agency's systems by stealing about 78 gigabytes of data .
The alarm would have been triggered after the cyberpirates themselves announced the theft on the darkweb, also launching an ultimatum to the Agency for the payment of a "ransom" , to be paid within five days to avoid the publication of the stolen documents, including financial reports and contracts.
"With reference to the news that appeared on social media and picked up by some press about the alleged theft of data from the tax information system - reads an official note -, the Inland Revenue specifies that it immediately requested feedback and clarifications to Sogei spa , a public company wholly owned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, which manages the technological infrastructures of the financial administration and is carrying out all the necessary checks ".
