The Court of Rome sentenced Giuliano Castellino to eight years and seven months in prison and Roberto Fiore to eight years and six months for the attack on the CGIL .
The two leaders of Forza Nuova were convicted together with five other people in the trial for the attack on the union headquarters which took place in October 2021 during a demonstration against the green pass. The court imposed 8 and a half years on FN militant Luigi Aronica, 8 years and 2 months on Luca Castellini, Salvatore Lubrano, Lorenzo Franceschi and Pamela Testa , all far-right exponents. Another six convictions had arrived in July 2022 for the defendants who had chosen the abbreviated trial.
Screams, chaos, threats and moments of tension inside and outside the courtroom as the sentence was read. "Now let's start war" , some shouted, others shouted "people like us never give up" or chanted slogans such as "shame" towards the judges. Several far-right militants gave the Roman salute .
