Hours of apprehension in Taranto for three men, aged between 60 and 70, who have been missing at sea for over 24 hours. The three had left yesterday morning from Molo Santa Lucia aboard a semi-cabin boat of about seven metres, but they have been missing since midday on Sunday. The search has been underway since yesterday afternoon in the Gulf of Taranto, where weather conditions were prohibitive at the time of the departure. The lack of radio communications immediately raised the alarm.
One of the missing is said to be suffering from diabetes, a pathology that makes the recovery even more urgent . The rescue machine is coordinated by the Coast Guard, with Commander Rosario Meo leading the operations. At sea, patrol boats from the Coast Guard and the Guardia di Finanza operate, with patrols up to 15 miles from the coast. In the air, helicopters from the Air Force and the Finance Police ensure monitoring from above.
At the moment, no sightings . The search continues without stopping.
