A 27-year-old worker died from serious injuries sustained after a fall from a height of approximately twenty metres at the Fincantieri plant in Monfalcone (Gorizia).

Paramedics from the Sores Fvg regional operations center arrived on the scene with a helicopter and an ambulance, but there was nothing they could do for the 27-year-old, an Italian citizen employed by an external company, "Inquota," which specializes in work at heights using ropes and similar equipment. He died from the numerous injuries caused by the impact with the ground.

Investigations are underway by the Carabinieri and inspectors from the local health authority, assisted by the local firefighters.

The Gorizia prosecutor's office is expected to arrive on site. The area is currently closed.
