A 23-year-old motorcyclist died late yesterday afternoon in Romans d'Isonzo , in the Gorizia area, during a regional motocross race.

The accident occurred at the Versa motocross track .

According to a reconstruction, the young man, while taking a jump, lost control of the motorbike, falling to the ground and then being hit by some racing motorbikes, which were unable to avoid him.

The young man, Filippo Morello, from Orsago, in the Treviso area, was a member of the Polcenigo motorcycle club (Pordenone).

Emergency medical services arrived on site with an ambulance and a helicopter rescue, but attempts to revive the 23-year-old were in vain.

According to local media, the boy's father also witnessed the accident.
